Contemporary Staffing Solutions celebrates
Throwback Thursday!

Once a month we will feature a “first job” from one of our employees, clients, or contractors, posing questions often asked in job interviews. They will share many things like what they learned from their first job, how they feel it’s applicable to their job today, and something they learned from their first job they wish they knew then.

Darla N., a CSS Recruiter / Business Developer, shares her first job:

Where was your first job & what was  your title there?

“Kindercare Learning Center”

What were your daily responsibilities?

“I was a co-teacher and I assisted with the daily functions of changing diapers, assisting with curriculum, feeding the children and maintaining the overall flow of the day.”

What was a “stand out” moment that was fun/interesting/memorable”?

“A stand out moment was a time that we were short staffed and I changed 36 diapers in a row. It was definitely memorable for many reasons!”

What did you learn from this job that you apply to your current job?

“I really learned how to multi-task and structure my day to be productive. When there are multiple things that need to be accomplished, is it valuable to have structure!”

What do you know now, that you wish you knew then?

“I always knew that education was important, but I definitely know that education is the key to elevating your career by leaps and bounds. Although working at a daycare was important work when I was 18 years old, I have been able to grow my career by obtaining my degrees.”

What is your current job/title?

Darla is currently a Recruiter / Business Developer with Contemporary Staffing Solutions in our New Castle, DE office.

Thank you Darla for all your great responses to Contemporary Staffing Solutions “Throwback Thursday!”
