Contemporary Staffing Solutions celebrates
Throwback Thursday!

Once a month we will feature a “first job” from one of our employees, clients, or contractors, posing questions often asked in job interviews. They will share many things like what they learned from their first job, how they feel it’s applicable to their job today, and something they learned from their first job they wish they knew then.

Lajuana T., a CSS Branch Supervisor for our Florida Commercial Division, shares her first job:

Where was your first job & what was  your title there?

“Delivering newspapers; I was a paper girl.

What were your daily responsibilities?

Getting up very early to pick up the stacks of papers and then my mom or dad drove me to the neighborhood to deliver the papers to every house.

What was a “stand out” moment that was fun/interesting/memorable”?

My standout moment at the time was when I realized that I could make tips and even more so if I provided great customer service!”

What did you learn from this job that you apply to your current job?

I’ve learned how vital great customer service is and that ‘customers’ pertains to any group that you provide a service to. Meaning all my customers at CSS are the clients, temporary associates, candidates, and coworkers.

What do you know now, that you wish you knew then?

There’s so many things that I could say but I’ll stick to realizing how important personal development is. Always keeping an open mind to learn new things and challenge myself along with having the confidence to step outside my comfort zone and that’s what brought me to Jacksonville!

What is your current job/title?

Lajuana T. is currently a Branch Supervisor for our Commercial Division at our Jacksonville, FL office.

Thank you Lajuana T. for all your great responses to Contemporary Staffing Solutions “Throwback Thursday!”
